On  April 4 2010 at 5.45, Moscow, Polet’s AN-124-100 ‘Ruslan’ delivered the first stage of KSLV-1 launch vehicle manufactured by Khrunichev Space Centre from Ulyanovsk-Vostochny airport, Russia, to Pusan Airport, South Korea.

It was the third time when this kind of equipment is transported from Russia to South Korea. Container with first stage launcher is about 36 meters long, and its total weight is over 50 ton.

This was the end of a unique operation that started on night March 30, and had railway, truck and air carriage stages.
Technology of transportation and loading equipment was developed special for this case. High qualification of specialist and their experience of previous two transportations allowed to reduce the time necessary to offload the train and put the launch vehicle to the truck, and after that load it to Ruslan's cargo compartment. At first this operation took about two days, and now only one day is required.

Polet Airlines’ main area of expertise is transportation of heavy and oversize cargo, and since 1999 it works as a main transportation entity of Roscosmos.

Polet and Khrunichev Space Centre have been cooperating for more than 10 years. During this period Polet’s aircrafts carried an impressive number of space hardware and equipment produced by this entity.
In 2009 the aircrafts of this airline made 21 flights carrying the Khrunichev’s hardware, such as Breeze-M  upper stage and KSLV-1 first stage.
