Polet’s IL-96-400Т aircraft started its commercial flights. On September, 27 the aircraft departed from Domodedovo airport to Yakutsk where it was loaded. The aircraft route shall be Shanghai –Novosibirsk – Munich.

Polet Airlines is known as a high-quality air carrier, and it is proved by over 20 years of successful air carriages experience. In 2009, guided by market requirements and following its strategy, Polet Airlines declared that it is going to enter the regular cargo carriage market.

IL-96-400Т project started in February 2009. In September the company received two aircrafts of this type, and the third is expected to be accepted in the coming weeks. IL-96-400T is included into Operator Certificate of Polet Airlines.
The company selected highly professional flight crews, and provided the training of technical personnel to operate the new jet, and now the company is ready to start the operation of the aircraft. We also provided new facilities at Ulyanovsk airport for IL-96-400T handling. We made a market research, and its results proved our strategy of project development.

This project is crucially important to us. Polet Airlines brings to market a new aircraft built in Russia, at Voronezh Aircraft Plant. This happens after a long pause in the work of Russian aircraft building industry, especially cargo aircraft building, thus IL-96-400T is a long-expected aircraft in Russia.

 IL-96-400Т project will give an opportunity to deliver cargo to North and Far East regions of Russia, where air traffic is the main mean of transport to central regions. IL-96-400Т meets an increasing demand in these regions for transportation of consumer goods, food, medical supplies.

We would also like to note that commercial operation IL-96-400Т is starting in the period when Russian government is actively working on aviation industry recovery. We work together with the airports obtaining authorizations to accommodate this type of aircraft, and, as a result, together we create jobs with stable earnings and professional development opportunities.

Being a Russian company, Polet Airlines has a tax exemption in relation to this type of business in Russian market.
We chose the most promising routes of regular cargo carriages: from China to Europe, from Europe to Russia and Turkey. As a next step we plan to arrange regular transportations at the route India-Russia-Europe. We also plan to arrange the freight traffic between Russia and countries of North and South America.

Flight characteristics of IL-96-400T meet the requirements to cargo aircrafts at Europe and South-East Asia routes.  Aircraft has large cargo hatches, and also it can maintain temperature -20 С in cargo compartment.
These characteristics and other competitive advantages allow to enter the market with lower rates (with a reserve allowing to increase or decrease the rates), having the same level of expenses.
