During the first months of Polet Airlines’ IL-96-400Т operation, these aircraft delivered over 1000 ton of palletized cargo (food, medicine, equipment) to Yakutsk airport, Far East of Russia.
After the company started operation of these aircrafts, its cargo turnover at Far East direction exceeded 5 million ton-kilometers.
In 2009 Polet Airlines started operation of three IL-96-400Ts, and it plans to add one more jet of this type to its fleet in 2010.
IL-96-400T is a civil cargo aircraft, representing a new generation of aircrafts made in Russia, and at the moment Polet is the only operator of this aircraft type in the world.
IL-96-400Т project allows to deliver cargo to North and Far East regions of Russia, and it is a part of Russian federation Government project of Russian aviation industry recovery.
Blessing ceremony for third Polet’s IL-96-400Т ‘Stanislav Bliznyuk’, side no. RA96103, was held on December 14, 2009 after the aircraft acceptance at Voronezh Aircraft Plant.
By Polet's tradition, the company’s aircrafts are blessed by archpriest Boris Uzorevitch, the Dean of Holy Ascension Church of Izbische village, Voronezh in the presence of Polet representatives.
We would like to mention again that on September, 24 2009 such blessing ceremony was held for IL-96-400Т ’Vyacheslav Salikov’, RA96101, and later on November 28 for ‘Valery Menitsky’, RA96102.
Nowadays both Polet’s IL-96-400Ts perform regular flights to Asia and Europe directions, carrying the palletized cargo.
Polet Airlines’ IL-96-400Т cargo aircraft landed at Sheremetyevo airport on December 4, 2009, flying from Hahn, Germany to Sheremetyevo, Moscow and carrying 40 ton of palletized cargo on board.
Two IL-96-400Ts are actively operated by Polet Airlines, carrying cargo at Far East and North part of Russia and from Asia to Europe. The third aircraft is expected to pass the acceptance procedure before the end of 2009.
